Reliefs
Horčicová, Monika ; Sedlák, Jan (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
This master´s thesis consists of three relief objects composed from femur bones. The first relief object is geodetic structure applied to the shape of a sphere. The following two are deformed by softening the material from which they are cast. The second relief object also works with geometry (a square at the base) and systematic folding bones according to a clear order. The third relief can directly interfere with the viewer - the individual femurs contain every two magnets and therefore can move freely with them after the metal plate.
Biodegradable bones implants based on iron
Hrabovský, Jan ; Zatloukal, Miroslav (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
This work deals with a current topic, which are biodegradable bone implants. These implants seem to be a suitable candidate for temporary fixations, with their gradual decomposition. An important parameter is not only the mechanical properties so that the material can withstand the load, but above all the corrosion properties and the degradation process. This work introduces the physiology of bone, trace elements and also describes current trends in the field of implants. The last part is a theoretical introduction to cross-stage processes. The practical part is focused on the preparation of iron-based samples with various dopants, subsequent annealing and analysis.

Animation of 3D Character in Computer Graphics
Pečenka, Michal ; Štancl, Vít (referee) ; Přibyl, Jaroslav (advisor)
The main goal of this project was to familiarize readers with the techniques used in real-time animation of 3D characters. This work is focused on two types of animation: keyframe animation and skeletal animation. There are described algorithms for software and hardware accelerated model deformations, keyframe interpolations, animation blending, inverse kinematics and ragdoll. The result of this project is a framework, which consists of an animation library, examples demonstrating library functions and tools for export animations from 3D Studio Max and MilkShape 3D.
Comparative analyses of cranial skeletogenesis and odontogenesis in basal Ray-finned fishes
Pospíšilová, Anna ; Černý, Robert (advisor) ; Přikryl, Tomáš (referee) ; Buchtová, Marcela (referee)
Skeletal (cartilaginous, bony, and dental) tissues undoubtedly exemplify the key innovation of vertebrates. Among all recent vertebrates, the most numerous and successful lineage is represented by the Ray-finned fishes that, accordingly, exhibit amazing variety of skeletal architectures and phenotypic adaptations. In order to depict fundamental principles of fish cranial skeletogenesis the developmental formation of skeletal architectures was described, compared and analyzed using members of early branching fish lineages, that exemplify very different strategies of skeletogenesis. While the Senegal bichirs and the Tropical gars are heavily armored forms with massive exoskeleton and hyperossified dental structures covering the whole oropharyngeal region, the European sterlets, on the contrary, possess mostly cartilaginous skeleton and reduce their dental structures during early development. Whole analysis is underpinned by the Northen pike, teleostean species with lightened skeletal architecture with comparable number of cranial elements. The present study represents the first complex comparative analysis of their skeletogenesis and odontogenesis. This allowed to define developmental strategies founding different lineage-specific skeletal architecture of vertebrates. Comparative description of...
Bioapatite as an archive of environmental contaminants
Křemečková, Pavla ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Vašinová Galiová, Michaela (advisor)
Increasing environmental contamination has become one of the most globally addressed issues in recent years. Skeletal material, whose main mineral component bioapatite is able to accumulate and retain unwanted elements in its structure, can be used to thoroughly understand the impact of contaminants on different environmental components. In the framework of this bachelor thesis, the elemental distribution in the bones of bones of wildlife originating from both contaminated and non-contaminated areas was studied. Using the LA-ICP-MS method, it was possible to detect elements naturally occurring in the bones as well as selected contaminants that were present in higher contents in the bones of the animal from the contaminated area. Also, different techniques used for bone cleaning from soft tissues were tested and based on the results of the experiments performed, it was concluded that the techniques used had no effect on the elemental distribution in the analyzed bones of wild animals.
Bone regeneration and its analysis
Tesařová, Adéla ; Hovořáková, Mária (advisor) ; Zahradníček, Oldřich (referee)
Bone regeneration can take place throughout life as a natural process (remodeling) or because of trauma when fractures heal in which the damaged or missing part is replaced by new tissue. The aim of my bachelor thesis was to create a literature search on the issue of bone regeneration. The introductory part deals with the bone as such - its structure and the process of new formation (ossification) and remodeling. The following section describes some of the methods used to support bone regeneration in therapy - selected types of carriers and molecules that play an important role in regeneration and are part of the carriers or therapies used. At the end of the thesis, the basic methods used to analyze bone regeneration are described and provide us with an insight into the success of the tested therapeutic approaches, how well the bone heals and how effective the methods used are. The bachelor thesis was processed in the form of a literary search.
